American Kurdish Information Network

American Kurdish Information Network
   (AKIN)
This was a small but active Kurdish lobby in Washington, D.C., headed by Kani Xulam, a Turkish Kurdish exile. Xulam's work and family were highlighted in Kevin McKiernan's video "Good Kurds, Bad Kurds" in 2001. Xulam successfully warded off deportation from the United States because of irregularities in his immigration. After the accidental deaths of some members of Xulan's family in 2007, AKIN largely became inactive. AKIN's website remains www. kurdistan.org.
